Freeplay 10

About

Taking place once again at the State Library of Victoria, Freeplay 2010 was all together a much bigger event than 2009.

Over 1500 people visited Freeplay’s unique mix of lectures, panels, and hands-on gaming to have the chance to play the best in locally developed independent games, learn about how games are being used in cultural institutions, and explore the essence of our belief that ‘play is everywhere.’

The sold out ticketed program buzzed with energy as over 65 speakers discussed the role of play as an essential part of the creative process and what makes us human, culminating in Brandon Boyer’s keynote imploring designers to create uniquely personal work and Adam Saltsman’s brilliant exploration of the role of play in all our lives.

On both days, the event wound down with the IGDA supported party at Match Bar and Grill giving everyone a chance to put everything they’d learned into practice.
